The Yukon Ice Patch and Site Inventory Project contributes to the ongoing monitoring and study of receding ice patches in alpine areas of the Southern Lakes region.
Project participants include the Government of Yukon, scientific specialists, and Yukon First Nations: Champagne and Aishihik, Kluane, Carcross/Tagish, Kwanlin Dun, Ta'an Kwach'an and Teslin Tlingit.
The program also supports ongoing archaeological site inventory projects to enhance Yukon Government's ability to manage and conserve Yukon's archaeological past on behalf of all Yukoners. Exhibits on the Ice Patch Research Project will be developed with First Nation cultural facilities and heritage centres.
