National Aboriginal Day - June 21, 2017

Join us on June 21, 2017 to celebrate National Aboriginal Day in Yukon.

Events are taking place in communities across the territory including a community walk in Whitehorse, hosted by The Government of Yukon.

Whitehorse community walk and kick off

The Aboriginal Day community walk is intended to bring together Indigenous People, families, multicultural and community groups, the general public, as well as visitors, to participate in and celebrate Indigenous cultures and heritage in Yukon.


  • 10:00 a.m. DJ Dash and the Dakhká Khwáan Dancers at the Whitehorse Visitor Information Centre
  • 10:30 a.m. Opening Prayer and remarks
  • 11:00 a.m. Walk to Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre lead by the Dakhká Khwáan Dancers
  • 11:15 a.m. Stop at the Healing Totem Pole
  • 12:00 p.m. Lighting of the Sacred Fire
  • 1:00 p.m. Celebrations at Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre

This event will also be live streamed from Yukon government's Facebook page.
