Brian Groves | Manager, Museums Unit

The Manager, Museums provides strategic direction to the overall management of the Museums Unit and is responsible for developing, implementing, managing and evaluating a broad range of programs and technical services in support of Yukon museums, interpretive centres and First Nation cultural centres.

Collections Care

Valery Monahan | Conservator

The Conservator provides conservation services for Yukon community museums, First Nation Cultural Centres and for the Yukon Archaeology and Palaeontology program, on request.

Contact Valery for assistance with preventative conservation, artifact/specimen repair and cleaning, pest management and emergency planning for collections. 


Cathy Ritchie | Collections Management Advisor

The Collections Management Advisor provides information, resources, support and training for collections care and management to Museums Unit program organizations, their staff and independent heritage workers.

Contact Cathy for assistance in developing collections management policies and procedures, training in cataloguing, documentation, best practices for collections care and database navigation.

First Nations Heritage

Doug Bishop | First Nations Heritage Advisor

The First Nations Heritage Advisor provides information and support to Yukon First Nation cultural centres. This position manages the Searching for Our Heritage project and funding agreements.

Nyla Klugie-Migwans | Cultural Heritage Training Coordinator

The Cultural Heritage Training Coordinator works alongside First Nation governments, cultural organizations, heritage centers, human resource organizations, museums, and individuals to facilitate an overall framework for training and skill development in the Yukon Heritage sector.

Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre | Manager, Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre


The Manager is responsible for managing the operations of the Yukon Beringia Interpretative Centre, a cornerstone attraction in Yukon, which presents and exhibits information and specimens from Yukon’s Archaeology and Palaeontology Programs.
