The purpose of the funding is to provide organizations in the Yukon with financial support for services or projects that provide advocacy, referrals and support for women or enhance awareness, education and social action on women’s equality issues.
The amount available is up to $2,500/application intake. The deadline for applications for the first intake of applications is April 30, 2008 while the deadline for applications for the second intake is October 30, 2008.

Allocates a total of $100,000 yearly to run programs and events designed and developed by Aboriginal women for their communities. The purpose of the funding is to work on eliminating violence against Aboriginal women.

The focus of the Women’s Equality Fund is to assist Yukon organizations in their work towards women’s equality in the north.
The three-year (2007-2009) funding program supports direct services and programs for women; advances women's equality through research and policy development; supports education and social action on women's equality issues; and supports the development and capacity of women's organizations to effectively enhance women's equality.
Over $520,000 over three years was allocated to seven Yukon women’s and equality seeking groups in 2007.
