To the Selkirk First Nation, it is part of their homeland and a place for spiritual and cultural renewal. For others, it is a cherished reminder of the past, a rare glimpse into the native way of life, and a look at the history of trade and settlement in the north.
Located on the Yukon River, midway between Whitehorse and Dawson, Fort Selkirk is co-owned and co-managed by the Yukon Government and the Selkirk First Nation.
