Proposal Writing Tips 
This resource is designed to assist you with writing a proposal to a funding source.

Product Development Partnership Program
PDPP is designed to stimulate the development of tourism products, facilitate tourism workshops, and build tourism capacity throughout the Yukon. Eligible applicants include, non-profit groups, first nations governments, communities and municipalities, tourism associations, community events and festivals.

Tourism Cooperative Marketing Fund
TCMF is designed to assist tourism businesses, First Nations governments, municipalities and organizations to market their Yukon tourism product. It makes funding available to market-ready or export-ready businesses and groups.

Arts Programs
The Arts Section's mandate is to support and encourage the development of the visual, literary and performing arts in the Yukon. The Arts Section accomplishes this through programs which enhance public appreciation of the arts and which assist artists, arts organizations and arts collectives in the pursuit of their goals.

Community Development Fund
The primary goal of the CDF is funding projects and events that provide long-term benefit and value to Yukon communities.CDF provides Yukon community, industry & professional associations, non-profit & charitable organizations and municipal & First Nations governments money for projects and events that:
  • Create jobs
  • Generate spending on Yukon goods and services
  • Support community well being
  • Have measurable social, cultural and economic benefits for Yukon residents and communities

Enterprise Trade Fund
The ETF stimulates and supports the growth of Yukon business activity through market penetration and expansion and business development. The ETF is available to all Yukon businesses, for profit and not-for profit business related organizations and industry associations.

Historic Properties Assistance Program
This program was created by the Department of Tourism and Culture to help property owners preserve the Yukon's built heritage by making technical and financial assistance available to those who wish to undertake preservation, restoration, development and/or interpretation of their historic properties.

Yukon Historic Resources Fund
This fund was established to help support the objectives of the Yukon Historic Resources Act. These objectives are to promote the appreciation, protection, preservation, orderly development, study and interpretation of historic resources. It is administered by the Yukon Heritage Resources Board.

Regional Economic Development Fund
REDF facilitates coordinated economic planning at the regional level. Assistance under the REDF is available for the following types of projects or activities:
  • Participation and/or development of regional economic development plans
  • Opportunity identification
  • Related research
  • Needs assessments
  • Training plans
  • Corporate organizational capacity training

Strategic Industries Development Fund
SIDF helps identify and assist the development of industries and strategic projects in the Yukon with the potential for broad-based economic benefits.

Small Business Funding Sources, Canadian Federal Grants 
This site provides  many resources for the small business community. We have a team of social researchers conducting ongoing research into federal grants and other funding programs, their economic effects, and much more.

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) - Community Economic Development Program
This program provides core financial support for First Nation and Inuit communities for public services in economic development.

Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) - Community Economic Opportunities Program
This program provides project-based support to those First Nation and Inuit communities that have the best opportunities for public services in economic development.

Yukon Venture Loan Guarantee Program
This program is administered by the Department of Finance in partnership with the Banks in Yukon, Dana Naye Ventures and Business Development Bank of Canada. Applicants should contact the banks directly. Eligible applicants must be registered as a Yukon business and pay Yukon taxes. The program is focused on new or expanded activities which will have the ability to expand the Yukon economy and create new jobs

Lotteries Yukon - Recreation Project Funding Program
This program includes leisure activity related to heritage and culture; amateur level performing, visual and literary arts; amateur sports; and other forms of indoor and outdoor leisure activity.A project may include equipment or an activity extraordinary to the regular operations of the group. 

Lotteries Yukon - Community Lottery Funding Program
Thsi program provides resources that will enable the community to make decisions relevant to community specific needs. To provide a reasonable level of funding to meet the needs of community groups, and to provide equitable access to lottery revenues to Yukoners.

Lotteries Yukon - Travel Assistance Funding Program
This program  respond to the needs of recreation groups identified through community consultation and analysis of project applications, the travel assistance program provides eligible non-profit societies and extra-curricular high school groups with access to funding to participate in tournaments and adjudicated events within and out of the Yukon .

OTHER SOURCES OF FUNDING

Aboriginal Business Canada (ABC)
ABC offers funding support to new tourism businesses through a program which requires 15% cash equity from the proponent and proof that revenues of 60% are generated by tourists.This program in the Yukon is delivered through Dana Naye Ventures.

Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC)
At BDC, your account manager works with you to find a complete financial solution for your long-term success. BDC looks at your whole project – its viability, your management team, and your company's financial strength, commitment, and future prospects.

Dana Naye Ventures
Developmental financing to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal customers through various loan funds. Financial services include short and long-term loans with flexible payment schedules, operating lines of credit and demand loans. Dana Naye is the external delivery office for ABC.

Yukon Tourism Training Fund
In an effort to support the needs of the tourism industry the priorities of the fund are:

- Entry-level skill development such as food safe, first aid, basic web and marketing skills, beginner accounting, etc. 
- Seasonal employment training and (re)certification such as wilderness first aid, white water rescue, etc.
- Skill development course work ( for current tourism employees) to upgrade skills to existing knowledge base.
