The Museums Contribution Program provides community museums, First Nations cultural/heritage centres, and one umbrella museum association with management and operations assistance as part of the implementation of the Yukon Museum Policy (1989), the Museums Artifact Conservation Policy (1992) and the Museums Strategy (2005).
This program is funded though the Museums Assistance Program which helps to preserve, research, restore, interpret and disseminate Yukon's history and culture. It also helps to record, preserve and interpret the integrity and authenticity of Yukon's heritage and preserves and provides access to artistic traditions and contemporary expression. This program provides significant support for the hiring of itinerant Yukon museum workers.
